I attended the King County Parks and Vashon Mountain Bike Association (VMBA) update meeting tonight (March 9th) and the news was great.
In a nutshell the new trails, known as Phase 1 C, will build upon the existing Phase 1 A/B work. The additions will include a pump track, one flow, one dual slalom and three black diamond trails being added to the current trail system.
The VMBA gave an overview of the trails and it looks like much fun will be had starting this spring!
Construction is slated to start at the end of March and will hopefully be done over the spring but may continue into the fall depending on weather. There should be no impacts to the other trails so all will be able to enjoy the park while the new trails are being built.
This project is a community effort and help is needed to turn some dirt and build the new trail system. Please check out the VMBA Facebook page for updates how you can volunteer your time.
